2020 Monthly Spiritual Themes

At One World we learn from the wisdom teachings of ancient and current sages from the world’s faith traditions and from the richness of new thought today. Our monthly themes represent a range of interesting topics relevant to our lives, and our weekly talks are designed to help us apply these practical spiritual principles every day at work, at home, and in all aspects of our busy lives. Our goal is to live joyful, inspired lives in which we grow spiritually, share our lives and hearts with others, and step forward in compassionate service to our world. Join us as we continue our journey together!

Our Memories of Rev. Sydney Magill-Lindquist

Late One World Prayer Chaplain Ministry Director

Rev. Sydney served as One World’s prayer chaplain with love and dedication. She was a retired Unity Minister, having served as Associate Minister at Unity North Atlanta and as senior minister at Unity of Gainesville.

She retired in 2011 to continue working with her husband, Scott Lindquist, on their “Open Minds Open Hearts” online radio show. The show reached 57,000 listeners with its message of interfaith understanding and acceptance. After Scott’s death in 2012, Rev. Sydney began speaking at Unity and other New Thought churches.

She also continued her work promoting interfaith understanding with Interfaith Community Initiatives and other Atlanta interfaith organizations. Her last interfaith venture was as a key team member on One World’s interfaith outreach, the North Fulton Interfaith Alliance.

Rev. Sydney was a huge inspiration and contributor to our community, so we wanted to create a special page to help us remember her now and always.

Congratulations to Rev. Linda Wendt on her ordination!

Completing seminary is a lot of hard work, both study-wise and introspection-wise. Congratulations to our very own, Linda Wendt, for taking this challenge and becoming an ordained minister through One Spirit Learning Alliance.

Linda consistently pours her heart and soul into our One World community. We are thrilled to have her now also bringing her  seminary experience to our board as we continue to grow into a flourishing interspiritual community serving North Metro Atlanta.

Thank you, Linda, for your commitment and dedication to your spiritual path and to One World. We love you!

House Concert a Huge Success!!!

We had a terrific turn-out this weekend at our fundraiser concert for our kids programs. John Stringer and his wife Kathy put on a beautiful show hosted by our very own Board President, Linda Wendt. The atmosphere was great with a nice casual spread of lawn chairs and picnic tables facing a small stage area where John performed, with plenty of food and drink for all. John played a wonderfully heartfelt show. And even Samson the dog got in on the evening’s events.

We all had a great evening and raised funds for the growth of our children’s program.  Thanks, John and Kathy for making this wonderful evening possible and also thank you, Linda, for hosting such a beautiful evening!
