Opening Prayer

Holy creator, source of light, love, and life,
we open our hearts to your presence.
You fill us with peace
challenge us with difficulty
open us with pain
and heal us with love.
May we be renewed in this moment.
May we as one community find a way forward,
and walk it together.
Awaken us to our oneness
and open our hearts to each other.
May our differences only strengthen us, weaving ever stronger our
diverse and wonderful fabric of community.
May we be willing , together, to birth this new world that waits;
that whispers in our hearts;
I am ready. I am here.

Rev. Melanie Eyre

Community Prayer

Bodhisattva Prayer for Humanity

May I be a guard for those who need protection
A guide for those on the path
A boat, a raft, a bridge for those who wish to cross the flood
May I be a lamp in the darkness
A resting place for the weary
A healing medicine for all who are sick
A vase of plenty, a tree of miracles
And for the boundless multitudes of living beings
May I bring sustenance and awakening
Enduring like the earth and sky
Until all beings are freed from sorrow
And all are awakened.

Shantideva, Indian Buddhist sage 700 C.E.
