“Small Miracles” with Rev. Melanie Eyre

We know that life often doesn’t turn out as expected, as our recent election demonstrated to many. How do we move forward in the face of uncertainty, on a personal or a national level? What’s next? Let’s explore those spiritual principles that help us move forward with awareness, authentic power, and gratitude.

Join us as we begin our series on the principles, practices and benefits of living the mindful life. In the midst of our busy days, the art of remaining awake to the present moment seems to have gone the way of the dial telephone.  We focus on what’s next, we worry about what’s past, and we rush through our precious days without noticing the miracles around us. Let’s take a look at how we take ourselves off “autopilot” and live each day with connection, gratitude and joy.

Enjoy this playlist of music celebrating winter solstice, also known as Yule. Notice how many of the songs have been adapted between the pagan and Christian faiths and how similar the messages are between the two. At the time when pagans are celebrating the rebirth of the “sun” and the light returning, Christians celebrate the birth of the “Son of God” who they say came to light the way.

Although much is known about Christianity in American culture and globally, pagan holidays and beliefs are often not well understood and even misunderstood. However, both pagan and Christian traditions are intended to light the way of a life of peace, love and joy.
