Community Circles – Are you left with questions after a talk, or did an idea so resonate with you that you want to explore it further? In our Community Circles, we build relationships with others, share ideas and insights, and support each other as we apply these principles in our daily lives.

Wednesday September 1, 7:00 – 8:30 pm ET. Community Circle Zoom Meeting/Discussion. Board President and congregant Tim Rainey works at Lake Lanier and will be presenting  a talk about Lake Lanier, GA. Lake Lanier is well known for its recreational opportunities and it is the source of water for metropolitan Atlanta.  But what else does it do?  How do you “manage” a lake?  Isn’t it just water flowing into a big hole?  Learn about the multiple purposes for Lake Lanier and the intricate, complex, and sometimes delicate factors, considerations, and processes that go into “managing” a lake.  Learn about the benefits it provides, not only locally, but regionally and nationally.  And finally, learn why it is not really a “lake”.

Wednesday July 21, 7:00 – 8:30 pm EDT. Community Circle Zoom Meeting/Discussion: Our discussion this evening continues our focus on connecting with the sacred as we share our thoughts and experiences around healing prayer, or prayer in general. We all have preconceptions of what prayer is and looks like (talking to God? Listening for God? Both or neither?) Let’s share our insights, as well as the wisdom of other wise men and women who not only have pondered this question but have lived their own answers. I look forward to a rich discussion!

“Where It Leads Us” with Rev. Melanie Eyre

What’s your goal in so intentionally pursuing a spiritual path? A great many people don’t, and on the outside they appear to get along just fine. Well, one of the answers for many of us is the development of deeper compassion, which connects us to our own heart and to each other. We move out of our ego-selves, our constant focus on ourselves, to a wider circle of love and caring for all beings. Our hearts and our minds open to the deeper truth of oneness, and that’s reward aplenty.

How many times have you heard someone say, “It’s not all about you!”? Sometimes, that can be a hard truth to swallow, even when it is in your highest good. But where does that leave you in life? Out of control? Without purpose? Spirituality without the personal experience is meaningless, just empty words and ideas. So if it’s not all about you, what is your part? Listen as Asha explores the 12 Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and the path to spiritual awakening they elicit.
